Scrap the Boys June 2016

The mood board provided this month by the team at Scrap the Boys was an excellent challenge for me. I had a new photo of Mr 17 as a "Wanted" thief just sitting there waiting for such challenge.
Here is the Scrap the Boys mood board for June.

I found the Boots and Tepee/Camping ideas lead me to the idea of rough and ruggared and I felt it matched the photo of Mr E and his Wanted Poster face. The Grey tones matched well with the photo also as they weren't to over bearing.

Card stock and papers were from a couple of different Amy Tan collections, while the Black Doiley, Photo Tab, Hello Tag, Twine, Heart Brad and Journal Spot were from my stash of yummy Dlish Scraps products. More delicious Charms Creations lept onto my page as well in the form of a Super star and a new Dark Cloud. I had some old clear stamps that included some Horse Shoes, Wanted and if you look really close, a cowboy hat stamped above the WANTED words.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by my blog to view my entry into Scrap the Boys June 2016 Challenge.

123 Challenge June 2016

Hello All,

The Challenge over at the 123 Challenge Blog this month was to Use the Colour - Lilac, the Word  -Drama and the Technique - Doodling.

I knew I could handle the first two fairly well and that I had the perfect photo for my layout but Doodling on my layouts is another matter entirely.

I had this lovely piece of Lilac paper (by Nicole, no other company or branding on the collection) sitting in my stash of pretty girl papers for awhile now just waiting to be used, it wasn't something that could be chopped up as it really wouldn't do the piece justice. So with this paper and the photo, I set about creating my page.

Some time ago Jules Gems on FaceBook was selling "Jules Bits Kits" of mixed embellishments in monotone colours and I managed to grab a few in different colours to work with. I used my Lilac/Purple kit here and added 2 Dlish Scraps Flairs coupled with a Lilac shipping tag from my older stash. Furthermore I still managed to sneak a Charms Creations Mini Star on my page who are sponsoring this month's challenge prize.
The hardest part of my layout was adding some doodling to my page, I feel that I'm scribbling on the page and not actually adding to the layout but I will hopefully find a happy medium one day regarding my doodling attempts.

Miss 7 was having a grumpy morning while we were on holidays 2 years ago and wasn't happy that the wonderful Mr Twister - balloon maker extraordinaire, had made her a unicorn instead of a giraffe.
My words to her, as I popped the camera to my face were "Beware the Drama Llama" in hope of getting her to smile.....
(We spent the rest of the day just relaxing in our cabin in the air-con watching movies. Sometimes we all need a rest while on holidays.)

Please feel free to check out my other posts about my scrapping adventures.

Scrap the Girls June 2016

This month over at Scrap the Girls the challenge was a Mood Board

I was inspired by the quote on the Mood Board as the memories this photo brings of the fun and laughter while out in the Queensland sun are some of my most loved. Miss 7 being free to be herself and the smile on her face as we explore is amazing. The mood board also inspired my colour choices.

I used lots of Dlish Scraps goodies on my layout, Journal Spot, Doilies, Itty Bitty flowers, Pick and Place Bow, Crystal Hearts, Pearl Heart Pin, Resin Lily attached to a Flower slide.
Charms Creations Heart, a Mini Runner, a Winking Emoji and Silver Glitter Clouds were added as well as 2 A Piece of Cake Designs Flairs. I also added a few odd flowers from my stash.
I am learning to let go of my perfectionist streak and doodle a little for the boarder edge. As I have said before: Practice, Practice, Practice!

Thanks for looking.

Just because I could!

Today I completed a layout just because there was a scrap of paper sitting in front of me, crying out for some colour.

This amazing scrap from Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Hello Lovely Collection was left over after I completed a layout a few months ago and has been teasing me for weeks. I did pop it into my scrap paper box but every time I went digging for a scrap for one of my pages, out it popped onto my table again.
I finally took the hint and set about adding some colour using Gelatos mixed with water to paint onto the card stock. I then backed the finished page with some black card stock to showcase the paper.

A Charms Creations Gold Star, some flowers from my ancient stash, a Heidi Swapp die cut word and Black and White Banner piece with a flair from A Piece of Cake Designs added just enough detail to the finish my layout and not detract from the CVS paper.

Thanks for coming by.

Scrapping Clearly's June 2016 Blog Challenge

This month I was looking for something a little different to challenge myself with when I came across  Scrapping Clearly's Blog Challenge.

The Moodboard was vibrant yet soft and lent itself to a photo of Miss Bug that I had of her when she was little and just as cheeky. The black and white stripes appealed to me as well as the pink, gold and black colours.

I have had some Becky Higgins Gold Foil Project Life Cards in my stash for awhile now and have been searching for an opportunity to use them on one of my pages. Finally I had a reason to use them!
So with some Heidi Swapp My Favourite Things papers, the PL Gold Foil card and some embellishments I found floating around my "bits bowl" I created the above layout.
I also used Charms Creations XO's and a Hot Pink Butterfly Heart, Dlish Scraps Hot Pink Sequin Bow (I think that was my last one) and 2 A Piece of Cake Design Flairs. I added the doodled edge with my Gold Sharpie.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.

Scrapping Outback June 2016

I really love the White with a Twist Challenge at scrapping Outback's blog page.
I enjoy being totally challenged by a different colour combination that I wouldn't usually do myself. But this months challenge of White with Aqua/Teal, Lime Green, Blue and Grey was quite the challenge for me, as I find it hard to work with blue and green together.

But as they say, What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

I spent a lot of time just shifting things round on the page until I got fed up and had to walk away. I eventually found a happy medium and decided it was time to commit to glue and sticking it to the page.
I used some Dlish Scraps JAP Tranquil Pools kit with some extra resin and paper  flowers, Charms Creations Mini Star and a A2Z Scraplets Chipboard piece painted in my new Colourblast Shimmer Paste in Deep Water.
I added some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Colourshine to some texture paste  with a Tim Holtz Stencil to create the background.

Thank  you for checking out my blog, hope to have another layout to share with you soon.

Dlish Scraps May Cybercrop 2016

I love the team over at Dlish Scraps!
They set the most amazing challenges to make capturing your memories so much fun (and sometimes frustrating but hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger)

First to challenge us this month is Michelle:

I will admit that this challenge really held an added bonus for me as it pushed me to unbox my Scan N Cut (I've had it 2 years) and try one last time to understand how to use this expensive paperweight. I spent many a night glued to my computer watching You Tube and learning how to navigate the ins and outs of what to do.
I am proud that I stuck to my guns and didn't decide to sell it. I have learnt so much this month and it was all because Michelle challenge us to incorporate cut files, die cuts and punched out shapes.

Here is what I achieved:

The cut file I finally decided to use was the front of a card file that I found while searching for free cut files 2 years ago when I first bought my Scan N Cut, I thought it made a good frame for my photo. Craft Market paper and ephemera was used to complete my page.

Challenge #2 was set by Sandra:

I struggle to add multiple photos to my pages, but this is what I can up with.

This challenge was another push out of my comfort zone this month, I find it hard to use multiple photos on one layout but I realise I am getting more comfortable with this technique. Practice, Practice, Practice.
I kept the embellishments down to a minimum so as to not detract too much from the cheeky photos of Miss  Bug. Dlish Scraps products used were a Sequin Bow, Twine and Flair.
I added a Charms Creations Heart and one of the new LOL Emojis.

Challenge #3 had Amanda challenging us to use our "B" things, with Banners, Bows and Buttons.

I also loved her page so much that I scrap-lifted her Banner idea as well.

So I used Banners, Bows and Buttons but also added Bella Bling Butterflies, Brads and Babies
Charms Creations Banners, A Piece of Cake Designs Flairs and Dlish Scraps blue and pink twine, mini pegs, flower buttons Pick and place bow and sequin bow.

Lastly (but not the least) challenge #4 was set by Sonia. Another fantastic challenge to get those creative ideas flowing.

Please excuse the odd angled photo of my layout but I was finding it had to capture the word "Shine" on the layout.

Mr E had just bought home his school photos when this months challenges were set, I knew straight away on seeing this Senior Photo that Sonia's challenge was perfect for this photo.
I used Kaisercraft cardstock, Ammerican Crafts Thickers and a cute Charms Creations Silver Glitter Star. Of course Dlish Scraps products were used, a Silver Sequin Bow, a Flair and a wood veneer diamond left from a Just Add Paper Kit. I also added some Cocoa Vanilla Studio Cut Outs after learning how to tame my Scan N Cut. (There will be no stopping me now, cut out on every page.)

Again a big Thank You to Amanda Lawerence and all her talented team for challenging us all to stretch our creative strengths and weaknesses.
I look forward to next months challenges!

Thanks for stopping in.
