D-Lish Scraps August 2016 Moodboard

Hello everyone,

It's been a little while since my last post as I haven't been able to create time for Scrapping this month.
I did find time to create with the D-Lish Scraps August 2016 MoodBoard as seen below:

I loved the colours and knew straight away what memory I needed to capture using this Moodboard.
So with the D-Lish Scraps Just Add Paper Kit for August also called Geometric Crush I set to work.

This is what I created:

The time has come for me to do my parental duty and teach my son how to drive on our Australian roads. For the both of us, this is an EPIC moment - he passed his Learners Permit test and is now licenced to learn!

D-Lish Scraps Just Add Paper Kit for August was used with some Colour Blast Texture Paste in Sunshine and Just Blue through Scrapmatts and Kaisercraft Stencils. I also added a Charms Creations Banner.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dlish Scraps July 2016 Moodboard

I found time this month to join in with Dlish Scraps's Moodboard Rustic Charm.

This month's moodboard has lovely soft colours and a gentle feel about it and I felt that the photo of my children in a loving pose was the one for this.

I love stalking my mailman after the 1st of the month to see when my Dlish Scraps Just Add Paper pack arrives, my postie is getting good at seeing my car in the driveway and tooting his little horn to say he has my package with him as he goes past across the road. I am so lucky to have such an awesome postie!

So I did utilise some of this months Rustic Charm Just Add Paper Kit in my layout, I spent a bit of time playing with the Wooden Veneer Heart, Lace Flower, Tassel and Birds trying to find a satisfying grouping. It all came together when I added the Memories Flair to the cluster. I added a gold Itty Bitty Bag and a Project Life card that I cut to size and arranged another cluster with one of the J.A.P. resin flowers and some lovely Charms Creations Embellishments - A Lovely Cream Heavenly Heart and some Fab Flowers. The page needed some defining so I edged it with the washi taped Supplied in the Rustic Charm Just Add Paper kit.

Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap the Girls July 2016

For the month of July Scrap the Girls gave us a wonderful sketch to help us get creative.

I thought I'd try something outside my comfort zone and find a colour I don't use very often to incorporate into my layout.

Here's my page:

In the end I think the green that I chose, made my page pop just enough to catch your attention but didn't overwhelm my photo. I find it had to use a lot of green, yellow and orange but I am trying to over come that issue.

My page was created with Kaisercraft card stock, Flutterby Designs Wood Veneer Circles, Dlish Scraps Journaling Card, Wood Veneer Stars and a Heidi Swapp paper. I also added some washi tape from my rather large collection.

Please come by again soon to have a look at my pages, thanks for stopping by.

More Than Words July 2016

The team at More Than Words wanted us to kick start our pages with a sketch and use the word 'Smile'

I loved this sketch as it left plenty of room for your own interpretation as you can see by my page below.

I had this random left over photo of my children from a few Christmases ago.

On my page I have used some gorgeous Charms Creations - a Mini Runner and a Red Hessian Heart. From my never ending supply of D'lish Scraps Doilies, a Lace Doily, an Itty Bitty Gold Bag which I found a tag to pop inside, a Wild Rose in Red and Tangelo Wax Flowers. I added some gold thread for texture and splatters of Cherry Pie Dylusions, American Thickers for the title and a Gold Sharpie for the boarder.

I love that I have now scrapped this memory of my children and can compare this photo with the others I have taken every Christmas beside Santa's Mailbox in the City.

Thanks for coming by to see my page.

Scrapping Outback July 2016

It's been awhile since I have been able to scrap so I really enjoyed getting back into it with Scrapping Outback's White with a Twist Challenge this month.
I love these different colour combinations that stretch my creative reach.
Here is their challenge for July

We were asked to use Lilac, Light Blue and a Touch of Grey with White and not to forget to use some Chipboard on our layouts.

On this layout I used a Kaszazz chipboard word 'Love', Kaisercraft card stock, D'lish Scraps Flair, Doily and Pearl Dots, Charms Creations Mini Runner and some old flowers from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by to look.

Scrap the Boys June 2016

The mood board provided this month by the team at Scrap the Boys was an excellent challenge for me. I had a new photo of Mr 17 as a "Wanted" thief just sitting there waiting for such challenge.
Here is the Scrap the Boys mood board for June.

I found the Boots and Tepee/Camping ideas lead me to the idea of rough and ruggared and I felt it matched the photo of Mr E and his Wanted Poster face. The Grey tones matched well with the photo also as they weren't to over bearing.

Card stock and papers were from a couple of different Amy Tan collections, while the Black Doiley, Photo Tab, Hello Tag, Twine, Heart Brad and Journal Spot were from my stash of yummy Dlish Scraps products. More delicious Charms Creations lept onto my page as well in the form of a Super star and a new Dark Cloud. I had some old clear stamps that included some Horse Shoes, Wanted and if you look really close, a cowboy hat stamped above the WANTED words.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by my blog to view my entry into Scrap the Boys June 2016 Challenge.

123 Challenge June 2016

Hello All,

The Challenge over at the 123 Challenge Blog this month was to Use the Colour - Lilac, the Word  -Drama and the Technique - Doodling.

I knew I could handle the first two fairly well and that I had the perfect photo for my layout but Doodling on my layouts is another matter entirely.

I had this lovely piece of Lilac paper (by Nicole, no other company or branding on the collection) sitting in my stash of pretty girl papers for awhile now just waiting to be used, it wasn't something that could be chopped up as it really wouldn't do the piece justice. So with this paper and the photo, I set about creating my page.

Some time ago Jules Gems on FaceBook was selling "Jules Bits Kits" of mixed embellishments in monotone colours and I managed to grab a few in different colours to work with. I used my Lilac/Purple kit here and added 2 Dlish Scraps Flairs coupled with a Lilac shipping tag from my older stash. Furthermore I still managed to sneak a Charms Creations Mini Star on my page who are sponsoring this month's challenge prize.
The hardest part of my layout was adding some doodling to my page, I feel that I'm scribbling on the page and not actually adding to the layout but I will hopefully find a happy medium one day regarding my doodling attempts.

Miss 7 was having a grumpy morning while we were on holidays 2 years ago and wasn't happy that the wonderful Mr Twister - balloon maker extraordinaire, had made her a unicorn instead of a giraffe.
My words to her, as I popped the camera to my face were "Beware the Drama Llama" in hope of getting her to smile.....
(We spent the rest of the day just relaxing in our cabin in the air-con watching movies. Sometimes we all need a rest while on holidays.)

Please feel free to check out my other posts about my scrapping adventures.

Scrap the Girls June 2016

This month over at Scrap the Girls the challenge was a Mood Board

I was inspired by the quote on the Mood Board as the memories this photo brings of the fun and laughter while out in the Queensland sun are some of my most loved. Miss 7 being free to be herself and the smile on her face as we explore is amazing. The mood board also inspired my colour choices.

I used lots of Dlish Scraps goodies on my layout, Journal Spot, Doilies, Itty Bitty flowers, Pick and Place Bow, Crystal Hearts, Pearl Heart Pin, Resin Lily attached to a Flower slide.
Charms Creations Heart, a Mini Runner, a Winking Emoji and Silver Glitter Clouds were added as well as 2 A Piece of Cake Designs Flairs. I also added a few odd flowers from my stash.
I am learning to let go of my perfectionist streak and doodle a little for the boarder edge. As I have said before: Practice, Practice, Practice!

Thanks for looking.

Just because I could!

Today I completed a layout just because there was a scrap of paper sitting in front of me, crying out for some colour.

This amazing scrap from Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Hello Lovely Collection was left over after I completed a layout a few months ago and has been teasing me for weeks. I did pop it into my scrap paper box but every time I went digging for a scrap for one of my pages, out it popped onto my table again.
I finally took the hint and set about adding some colour using Gelatos mixed with water to paint onto the card stock. I then backed the finished page with some black card stock to showcase the paper.

A Charms Creations Gold Star, some flowers from my ancient stash, a Heidi Swapp die cut word and Black and White Banner piece with a flair from A Piece of Cake Designs added just enough detail to the finish my layout and not detract from the CVS paper.

Thanks for coming by.

Scrapping Clearly's June 2016 Blog Challenge

This month I was looking for something a little different to challenge myself with when I came across  Scrapping Clearly's Blog Challenge.

The Moodboard was vibrant yet soft and lent itself to a photo of Miss Bug that I had of her when she was little and just as cheeky. The black and white stripes appealed to me as well as the pink, gold and black colours.

I have had some Becky Higgins Gold Foil Project Life Cards in my stash for awhile now and have been searching for an opportunity to use them on one of my pages. Finally I had a reason to use them!
So with some Heidi Swapp My Favourite Things papers, the PL Gold Foil card and some embellishments I found floating around my "bits bowl" I created the above layout.
I also used Charms Creations XO's and a Hot Pink Butterfly Heart, Dlish Scraps Hot Pink Sequin Bow (I think that was my last one) and 2 A Piece of Cake Design Flairs. I added the doodled edge with my Gold Sharpie.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look.

Scrapping Outback June 2016

I really love the White with a Twist Challenge at scrapping Outback's blog page.
I enjoy being totally challenged by a different colour combination that I wouldn't usually do myself. But this months challenge of White with Aqua/Teal, Lime Green, Blue and Grey was quite the challenge for me, as I find it hard to work with blue and green together.

But as they say, What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

I spent a lot of time just shifting things round on the page until I got fed up and had to walk away. I eventually found a happy medium and decided it was time to commit to glue and sticking it to the page.
I used some Dlish Scraps JAP Tranquil Pools kit with some extra resin and paper  flowers, Charms Creations Mini Star and a A2Z Scraplets Chipboard piece painted in my new Colourblast Shimmer Paste in Deep Water.
I added some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Colourshine to some texture paste  with a Tim Holtz Stencil to create the background.

Thank  you for checking out my blog, hope to have another layout to share with you soon.

Dlish Scraps May Cybercrop 2016

I love the team over at Dlish Scraps!
They set the most amazing challenges to make capturing your memories so much fun (and sometimes frustrating but hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger)

First to challenge us this month is Michelle:

I will admit that this challenge really held an added bonus for me as it pushed me to unbox my Scan N Cut (I've had it 2 years) and try one last time to understand how to use this expensive paperweight. I spent many a night glued to my computer watching You Tube and learning how to navigate the ins and outs of what to do.
I am proud that I stuck to my guns and didn't decide to sell it. I have learnt so much this month and it was all because Michelle challenge us to incorporate cut files, die cuts and punched out shapes.

Here is what I achieved:

The cut file I finally decided to use was the front of a card file that I found while searching for free cut files 2 years ago when I first bought my Scan N Cut, I thought it made a good frame for my photo. Craft Market paper and ephemera was used to complete my page.

Challenge #2 was set by Sandra:

I struggle to add multiple photos to my pages, but this is what I can up with.

This challenge was another push out of my comfort zone this month, I find it hard to use multiple photos on one layout but I realise I am getting more comfortable with this technique. Practice, Practice, Practice.
I kept the embellishments down to a minimum so as to not detract too much from the cheeky photos of Miss  Bug. Dlish Scraps products used were a Sequin Bow, Twine and Flair.
I added a Charms Creations Heart and one of the new LOL Emojis.

Challenge #3 had Amanda challenging us to use our "B" things, with Banners, Bows and Buttons.

I also loved her page so much that I scrap-lifted her Banner idea as well.

So I used Banners, Bows and Buttons but also added Bella Bling Butterflies, Brads and Babies
Charms Creations Banners, A Piece of Cake Designs Flairs and Dlish Scraps blue and pink twine, mini pegs, flower buttons Pick and place bow and sequin bow.

Lastly (but not the least) challenge #4 was set by Sonia. Another fantastic challenge to get those creative ideas flowing.

Please excuse the odd angled photo of my layout but I was finding it had to capture the word "Shine" on the layout.

Mr E had just bought home his school photos when this months challenges were set, I knew straight away on seeing this Senior Photo that Sonia's challenge was perfect for this photo.
I used Kaisercraft cardstock, Ammerican Crafts Thickers and a cute Charms Creations Silver Glitter Star. Of course Dlish Scraps products were used, a Silver Sequin Bow, a Flair and a wood veneer diamond left from a Just Add Paper Kit. I also added some Cocoa Vanilla Studio Cut Outs after learning how to tame my Scan N Cut. (There will be no stopping me now, cut out on every page.)

Again a big Thank You to Amanda Lawerence and all her talented team for challenging us all to stretch our creative strengths and weaknesses.
I look forward to next months challenges!

Thanks for stopping in.

Scrap The Boys May 2016 Challenge

Hello again for this month.

I didn't get through as many challenges this month as I wanted to do but that doesn't mean I can't still use those challenges at a later date.

I couldn't resist the Sketch Challenge set for Scrap the Boys this month, as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to achieve.

Here is the sketch:

The sketch laid out a nice set of photos for me to show the growth of Mr E over the years as he is comes to the end of his High School education.

I loved the simplicity of the sketch that allowed those gorgeous photos of son to still be the centre of attention.
I went through my stash of male papers and found some from the Kaisercraft Stirred but Not Shaken Collection. I added some Charms Creations Stars, a cute little Mini Felt Star from Rainbow Splendour and Studio Calico wood veneer stars to the page. Washi from A Piece of Cake Designs and American crafts Thickers. Black fine line Sharpie and Papermate Silver Gel Pen were also used.

Thank you for taking the time to drop by my blog.

Scrapping Outback May 2016 Challenge

I'm really liking the White with a Twist Challenges over at Scrapping Outback's Blog. This month we were challenged to add the colours Deep Raspberry, Dusty Pink, Mint Green with touches of Orange and Brown. Wow what a challenge, image inspiration below.

I had lots of fun with this challenge sorting through photos and paper to find exactly what I was looking for. Check out my layout below.

I probably didn't use as much white as I should have but the Deep Raspberry of the Dear Lizzy Serendipity paper really spoke to me. I dug deep in to my pile of scrap paper and found a cute sheet of matching paper and cut outs, that I fussy cut out from a Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. I added some Kaisercraft card stock and a Twiddlebitz Corner scroll Chipboard piece that I coloured to add a touch more brown.
I really like the that the photo of Miss Bug is the focus of this layout.

Thanks for stopping by.

Show Us Your Stuff

Hello everyone and welcome to another one of my scrapping posts.

Today I want to share with you my take on the fabulous Show Us Your Stuff May Challenge of Poetry and Hearts.

Here's my layout.

I used some of my Dear Lizzy Serendipity Collection as well as Die cuts and matching Thickers. I also added A Piece Of Cake Designs Flair, a Heart paperclip and a 3 x 4 Die Cut frame from a previous main kit. A Becky Higgins Project Life card and some Simple Stories and Kaisercraft alphas finished off my piece of poetry. To complete the page, a Charms Creations embellishment to add a handmade touch.

Thanks for dropping by to take a look.

Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia

This months challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia is simple Tic-Tac-Toe or Pick-a-Row challenge shown below.

I selected the bottom row

I took this picture of Mr E resting while Miss Bug played at ABC World at Dreamworld. I turned to see what he was doing when he said "Clean up in Aisle 5" and I had been waiting to find the right challenge to scrap this fun (and typically him) memory.

I used Kaisercraft stamps to create some extra dimension, star printed vellum, Project Life cards, a hand cut the 4 x 6 Sun Ray card, A Charms Creations Heart, A Piece of Cake Designs Flairs, Rainbow Splendour Leaves, Freckled Fawn 'Hi' paperclip, Cre8ive 'Hand' paperclip, Heidi Swapp Archivl Ink and Sharpie Pen.

I hope you all visit again soon.

Charms Creations May Challenge

Image of PRE-ORDER Emoji Embellishments!I am loving Charms's challenges over on the Charms Creations Facebook page, this month Charms has challenged us to use one of her fabulous Emojis on our layouts.

How could anyone resist these adorable and fun creations of Charms to add to their pages.

So here is one of my layouts including a hot pink happy emoji.

I was finally brave enough to cut into my Serendipity Collection of papers from Dear Lizzy. I must remember that it is really ok to use these beautiful collections and not try hard just to collect them.

I happily sorted through the ephemera pack to find some pretty die cuts to add to my page but not detract too much from the gorgeous photo of Miss Bug where she is actually fully engaged with the photographer and sitting quietly.

I added a Dear Lizzy Brad from the same collection, A Piece of Cake Designs Flair, an old crochet flower from deep within my stash and some American Crafts Ribbon. I grabbed my Dlish Scraps stash containers and from there added a Lace Doily, some enamel dots and the 'love' wire word  I created from a past JAP kit.

I can't wait to create more fun layouts using some of Charms's amazingly cute Emojis soon.

Drop by soon for some more of my "me time" creations.

More Than Words May Challenge

Over at the More Than Words blog they have an awesome challenge using The word 'Moment' and the Technique  'Clocks'.

I really wanted to do this challenge this month as I am trying to push myself outside my comfort zone and do something new each month.

So here is my layout.

I went for a vintage style as the image of the clocks on the blog reminded me of an older time period, and a less colourful era, hence the more neutral tones.

I used a range of products starting with a sheet of vellum to soften the script on the Kasiercraft patterned paper as well as some Kaisercraft left over black flourish, A Stampin' Up Clock stamp that I was able to borrow from an awesome friend, with Heidi Swapp Archival Ink, to add some extra 'Clock' details. An old paper rose, a Clock charm from Handmade Halo as well as a Rainbow Splendour Bow complete the cluster. American Thickers, an Amy Tan Die Cut Arrow,  Charms Creations Mini Runner and a Dlish Scraps lace doily finished the page

I was out of my comfort zone as I usually reach for lots of colour on my pages, but I enjoyed trying a different approach and look forward to attempting more challenges from the More Than Words Blog.

Thank you for stopping by.

Dlish Scraps April Cybercrop

Dlish Scraps has a Facebook page called The Scrap Suite where they hold a monthly Cybercrops. Amanda and her team of creative souls set 4 challenges and we have 4 weeks to complete them. Every month is full of inspirational challenges that get your creative juices bubbling away to help you capture those precious memories, what ever they may be.

Challenge # 1 was set by Krisy

I had to think hard about this challenge as I wanted to scrap a male inspired layout and not cave in and do another female one. I need to scrap more of my son.
I was still inspired by Disney but instead of a Princess I was inspired by a quote by Sorcerer Mickey Mouse.

I used a Dlish Scraps Sequin Bow and left over large wood veneer stars, Map Marker, Star, Chevron, sequins, small wood veneer stars and male wood veneer person are from a Charms Creations Mixed Kit. The background was stenciled with a Kaisercraft Stars Stencil.

Challenge #2 was set by Mandy

I realised when starting this challenge that I didn't have any photos of my friends and I together as I am the one behind the camera when we are together, so I found one of my son and his mates to go with the quote. These 3 write the most amazing stories together while on their way through life, some good and some bad but always fun.

Another trying new things background where I was playing with a Flutterby Designs stencil and a Tim Holtz stencil to create different effects because of this I keep the layout simple by tearing (argh!) the underlying cardstock to create a frame for the photo matted on to a Dlish Scraps 5 x 7 Chevron Bag. I added some silver Punchinella, a heart flair and black sequins from Dlish Scraps as well. I topped off the layout with some Charms Creations embellishments.

Challenge #3 was set by Emma

I've had this Professional portrait of my children done a few years ago sitting around waiting for the chance to scrap it, finally I found a challenge that suited the task.

I have a stash of backgrounds that are sitting around in a clean pizza box waiting to be used after I have had a play with different mediums, stencils and or other mixed media products. I liked this one and it gave bold black and white background that I could add a colour and a metallic too. As you can see I added a lovely blue to match my photo and the metallic was the Leaf and photo mount cardstock.
I used a Dlish Scraps White Sequin Bow, a Heart Flair, Love Flag, Wordfetti, Resin Lily and tiny dark blue flowers from a previous kit.
Other products were A Piece of Cake Design Flair, Rainbow Splendour Blue Leaf, Charms Creations Mini Silver Glitter Heart and various flowers from my stash as well as 2 little butterflies.

Last but not least Challenge #4 was set by Sue

Sue created a great sketch this month to inspire us with,

Here is my page based on Sue's sketch.

I was trying to use up some more of my leftovers before starting on another collection. I love digging through my container of D'lish goodies to see what I can add to my page, doily, flower/mason jar card, a journal spot, a pink gardenia, small rose and the heart flair.
A soft pink Vellum Bow from Rainbow Splendour, a A Piece of Cake Designs 'awesome' flair and a Charms Creations Heart were also added for some other embellishment to my page.

I am starting to see that I like clean simple pages that capture the amazing things we do in life.

Thank you all for visiting.
